Top 10 Places to Eat in Cleveleys

In May 2026 we asked the Visit Cleveleys Facebook community for their favourite places to eat in Cleveleys. More than 90 comments were made – many of you naming multiple places. Here are the favourites, as recommended by you. Ranked according to how many mentions you gave each one (but to be fair there wasn’t much separating them):

Illy’s and Kay’s Chippy

Coming in at joint number one with the most number of mentions, Illy’s Bistro and Kay’s fish and chips.

Both are located towards the seafront, Illy’s opposite the clock shelter and Kay’s near the bus station. Two totally different menus, but Visit Cleveleys can vouch for them both. Fresh and tasty food every time, great surroundings and pleasant staff. Neither are ‘cheap’ but both are great value for money, leaving you feeling that you made a good choice!

Decades

You’ll find Decades right in the centre of Cleveleys main shopping area, next door to the Shipwreck. It’s a unique retro cafe with a great menu and great music. It’s a place to relax and unwind, with an upstairs cocktail lounge bar. You can also sit outside at the front and enjoy the sunshine and continental atmosphere, often to the tunes of live musicians.

The Venue

Is it a bar, a cafe, a restaurant? The Venue is all of those things, in a superb, sea front location.

Opening mid-morning for coffee, and serving great food all day. Choose from simple sandwiches and soup to mouth-watering fish and chips. At The Venue you can enjoy a range of tastes from the menu, from traditional classics to curry.

As the name suggests, The Venue is also home to seasonal events and live entertainment. It’s also a great location for your own private functions – parties, christenings, weddings and funerals.

The Shipwreck

Another one in the centre of the main shopping area, The Shipwreck Brewhouse is between Home Bargains and Decades. It’s a speciality independent micropub on the sunny side of Cleveleys high street.

Choose from a wide and changing range of real ales and craft beers, plus a great menu packed with tasty favourites. And The Shipwreck is much bigger than it looks. Outdoor seating is obvious at the front, where you can watch the world go by. But there’s also a beer garden at the back, along with the Cabin, which you can hire for your own parties and events.

Coffee Barn

The Coffee Barn is a relaxing place to come for lunch, meet friends or catch up on your work.

Centrally located at Cleveleys Square, at the Crescent East side of the main cross roads next to the tramway. Choose tables and chairs or a comfy sofa, sit back and enjoy delicious home made food and friendly service.

Hunters and Carters

One of three bakeries in Cleveleys, Hunters and Carters is known for its freshly baked produce, bread, cakes and savouries. Choose what you like from the takeaway counter, or eat in the small cafe. This place to eat is also known for exceptional outside catering. This Artisan Bakers specialises in afternoon teas, corporate catering & party buffets, making anything you like at a very reasonable price.

Carousel

The Carousel Licensed Diner is just off Cleveleys main shopping street, literally around the corner at King’s Road. Serving great food at an affordable price, including plenty of cafe classics – and of course a full English breakfast!

Frilly Pig and the Tramway

And sharing a ranking is the Frilly Pig Bistro and The Tramway Pizza and Carvery Restaurant.

The Frilly Pig is an independent bistro that’s quickly built a reputation for fresh, home-cooked food and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Enjoy a mix of brunch dishes, hearty lunches and evening dining, with an emphasis on quality ingredients and homemade flavours. With stylish surroundings with a friendly, family feel, it’s a popular addition to the town’s food scene, offering something a little different from the traditional café experience.

The Tramway is a well-known family pub and dining venue on the approach to Cleveleys town centre. Enjoy a relaxed atmosphere and a menu built around traditional pub favourites, carvery meals and stone-baked pizzas. It’s a casual setting for breakfasts, lunches, evening meals and social gatherings. With spacious seating and a welcoming family-friendly environment.

Best of the Rest

To be fair, Cleveleys is really well catered for in terms of cafes, bars and coffee shops. While recipes and coffee blends change from place to place, there aren’t any places to eat in Cleveleys that we’d suggest you’d do well to avoid!

The Coffee Bar

One of our favourites here at Visit Cleveleys, serving a great cup of coffee or even a cheeky hot chocolate (with cream and marshmallows?) A regular hangout for many a local, there’s a relaxed and friendly atmosphere here, along with a good food menu of hot meals and lunchtime snacks. Sit inside or outside and soak up the warm and friendly vibe.

Cleveleys Cottage

Another family run cafe in the middle of Cleveleys, with home cooked food and friendly staff. Choose from an extensive menu and specials board at fantastic value, with quick and professional service. Takeaway also available.

Family Bakery

Another favourite of Visit Cleveleys, Family Bakery is in the centre of the busy high street. Inside, the takeaway counter is constantly busy, selling a wide variety of cakes, savouries and freshly cooked bread. Eat in at the busy cafe which serves a wide menu, from simple snacks right through to home-cooked meals. It’s mostly a traditional English-style menu, packed with all your favourites and comfort food. Plus the best toast on the planet!

Fish Loves Chips

At the opposite end of Cleveleys, the town’s other fish and chip shop is next door to the little Sainsbury’s, with plenty of nearby free parking. Eat in or take away – dine inside the fish and chip restaurant or eat outside when the sun shines! There’s two service times each day, over lunch and then tea time/early evening.

Cleveleys Kitchen

One of the large cafes at the seaward end of Cleveleys high street, close to the promenade. Known for its great selection of light bites, hearty mains, and family favourites, they also sell homemade pies, indulgent puddings and traditional home-style food. Located at Victoria Road West, it offers everything from hearty breakfasts and light lunches to classic British favourites, freshly baked treats and family meals. With spacious seating and a welcoming setting, Cleveleys Kitchen is a familiar stop for both local residents and visitors looking for comforting food and a friendly place to eat while exploring the town.

Juice Wave

Surprisingly not mentioned in our survey, Juice Wave is one of our favourites here at Visit Cleveleys. It’s a bit tucked away under the canopy at the corner of King’s Road, the Carousel is just around the corner. Juice Wave is a small, independent cafe, serving healthier options, fresh food and juices, all made to order. Choose from poke and acai bowls, paninis, smoothies and juices. Eat in or takeaway.

Dolce Blush

Dolce Blush is a stylish restaurant and café-bar in the heart of Cleveleys, bringing a contemporary Mediterranean-inspired dining experience to the town. Located on Bispham Road, the venue combines elegant surroundings with a relaxed atmosphere, serving a varied menu that includes breakfasts, brunch dishes, small plates, cocktails and freshly prepared mains. It’s modern décor and welcoming and a popular spot for everything from casual lunches and coffee catch-ups to evening meals and special occasions.
