When you visit the town centre during the festive season, stop to admire the Christmas Lights in Cleveleys! They’re installed and funded by the Care for Cleveleys volunteers – to spread community cheer!

Enjoy the Christmas Lights in Cleveleys

Whether you live on the Fylde Coast or love to visit, enjoy the Christmas Lights when you visit Cleveleys this year. Along with events, they’re organised and installed by the Care for Cleveleys group, to bring festive cheer to the town.

Cleveleys actually covers a large footprint, so lighting all of it up is a huge job! It’s not straightforward either, with all kinds of complicated land and building ownership issues. And that’s before you get to the question of where to plug them in!

But over the last few years the display is growing and will be added to, year-on-year. And each year you can also enjoy a community Christmas Switch On event to kick start the lights display. Plus other festive events like Meet Santa.

Care for Cleveleys has been working hard to light up the town centre since 2019. Installing Christmas Lights in Cleveleys has been a challenge, with lots of hurdles to overcome!

But little by little, year by year, the volunteers are chipping away at it, and each year adds something new! Care for Cleveleys aim is to make (and keep) the town inviting – a destination which shoppers want to visit. Official name Cleveleys Town Centre Group, Care for Cleveleys has the backing of the Cleveleys Together Town Partnership Board. The aim is for Cleveleys to be a special seaside town that local people enjoy using and others love to visit. The first place they think of for a shopping trip or a day out.

Donate to the Christmas Display

Care for Cleveleys applies for and receives a grant each year from Wyre Council towards the cost of the Christmas display. But it costs many thousands of pounds more to light up the town. The balancing cost is met by fundraising throughout the year.
