More than 60 teams of Cub Scouts, Scouts and Explorers from all over the UK, competed. The national Scot Car Races is a full day of pedal car racing. A day not to be missed this was Saturday 1 July 2017 at Jubilee Gardens, Cleveleys.

The event is organised by Scouting volunteers. They committed considerable time and effort to make it a memorable day.
More About the National Scout Car Races
The Championships is an annual Scouting event that moves from venue to venue to make it as accessible as possible to as many Scout groups across the UK as possible. Many venues are visited over and over again, but the aim is to keep the event moving from year to year.
Blackpool, Manchester and Darley Moor are regular venues for the National Scout Car Races. This event was first held in Cleveleys in 2015.
There are races open to Cubs, Scouts, Explorer Scouts, Network Scouts and even the leaders. The format of the day holds three races:
- Sprint Races: This is a 4 driver team event where the winners are the team with the lowest total time.
- Championship Races: These are held to determine the fastest driver in each division of each class.
- Grand Prix Races: These are where teams of 4 drivers race to complete as many laps as possible in a given time, usually 20 minutes.
The racing is usually very hard fought and competitive, but always friendly.
