Princess Road Event Space

Princess Road Events Space

There’s a new pedestrianised area in Cleveleys town centre – the Princess Road Events Space. Find it between Victoria Road West and the bus station – outside the front door of B&M. Care for Cleveleys organises and facilitates events and activities throughout the year in Cleveleys town centre. Find out what’s on at Princess Road Events Space – with fun and entertainment for all the family!

About Princess Road

Where to find it: Princess Road (postcode FY5 1BP) is in the heart of the town centre. Just off Victoria Road West, towards the seaward end of the high street. It’s a main gateway into town, linking the high street with the bus station and Derby Road East/West car parks. Previously a one-way street, it was closed to traffic in 2025 – more about that below.

There’s a steel gate at either end with a decorative laser-cut Mythic Coast pattern, featuring the Ogre and the Shell. Roadworks created a new straight kerb-line and the surface finished in a buff tarmac. Care for Cleveleys has provided some wooden picnic benches which are very popular, all year round.

What’s On at Princess Road

Care for Cleveleys is organising and facilitating events, activities and entertainment at Princess Road. The aim is to have it in use as much as possible, with all kinds of different things. It’s available for the use of the community – choirs, dance groups, performance etc. It’s a great place for vehicle clubs to hold a public meet up – ideal for classic or specialist cars, motorbikes and such like. And if you have a commercial business you can also hire the space too.

There are 365 days in a year so plenty of dates to choose from! And with steady footfall throughout the week in this busy little town, midweek events are as much of a draw as the ones at weekends – especially on sunny days. Have a look at the Events Calendar on the Care for Cleveleys website to see if your chosen date is free. Then look at this page with all the information you need to book your event in at Princess Road.

Making Princess Road Events Space

Cleveleys Town Centre Group (Care for Cleveleys) has been organising events in the town centre for some time. One thing that was very clear is the limited space within the main shopping area for holding events. It wasn’t possible to host any entertainment which either has a large footprint or will generate a big crowd!

Need for events space was also identified in the town centre report, commissioned by the Cleveleys Together town centre board. After numerous rounds of public consultation, the work was carried out in 2025. Funding came from the UK Government, via the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF).

Care for Cleveleys has provided some picnic benches which have already been very well used. Hopefully additional planting, decorations and street furniture can be provided – to bring the space to life!
