What’s On at Cleveleys Library
Thursday 10 October
Cleveleys Library Showcase. Come along and see what Cleveleys Library has to offer. We have lots going on with our regular daily groups for both adults and children. As part of Libraries Week we will also be showcasing everything digital in the library where you can learn more about our computer courses and online services. The Lancashire Volunteer Partnership will also be on hand to answer any questions you may have about volunteering both within the library and your local community. 10:00 – 13:00. Free.
Friends of Cleveleys Library Coffee Morning. The Friends of Cleveleys Library are delighted to host their very first Coffee Morning. So pop along to meet the Friends and enjoy some tea or coffee, cake and chat. 10:00 – 12:00.
Saturday 12 October
Thank You Event for Reading Hacks. This is a special event for Reading Hacks by the Lancashire Volunteer Partnership where you can meet your local Volunteer Officer. If you’re a young person interested in learning more about becoming a Reading Hack or other volunteering opportunities in the library then we will have somebody on hand to answer any questions you may have. Please see staff for further details. 11:00 – 12:00. Free
Thursday 17 October
Healthy Eye Talk. The Lancashire Community Engagement Team will be here to give an informative talk on how to keep your eyes healthy. 10:30 – 12:30. Free.
Tuesday 29 October 6x weeks
Lancashire Adult Learning iPad Course. This 6 week course runs on Tuesdays from 29th October to 3rd December 2:00 – 4:00 Free. Booking Required. If you are new to using a tablet device you may want to expand your knowledge and use of its features. Come along and learn more about what your iPad® and android tablet can do – how to choose, install and use a wide variety of Apps, use iCloud and review security features and settings. This event is free to all adults over 19, but booking is required. Please ensure you can attend all sessions before booking.
Tuesdays – Baby Bounce & Rhyme. Sing, bounce and jingle every Tuesday morning in our bubbly Baby Bounce session. 10:00 – 10:30. Free
Wednesdays – Knit and Natter. If you enjoy knitting and chatting then come and join our Knit and Natter group where you can share ideas, patterns and friendly conversation. 10:00 – 12:00. Free
Thursdays – Learn my Way Adult beginner – Tablet & Computer Class. Our free sessions run every Thursday and aim to teach you the basics such as using a keyboard, touchscreen basics, emails and even shopping. Anyone wishing to join is asked to register their interest at Cleveleys Library. 10:00 – 12:00. Free but Booking Required
Thursdays – Storytime. Come along to our story time for under 5’s where we read the best, brightest and funniest picture books in the library. 10:30 – 11:00 Free
Thursdays – Chair Yoga. Take time out of your day to relax and unwind in our gentle chair yoga class. Starting from 1st August 2019. Spaces are limited so booking is essential. 3:30 – 4:30. Free but Booking Required
Fridays – Knit and Natter. If you enjoy knitting and chatting then come and join our Knit and Natter group where you can share ideas, patterns and friendly conversation. 10:00 – 12:00. Free
Fridays – Citizens Advice Drop In. Citizens Advice are providing weekly drop in sessions every Friday where you can get help or advice on a range of issues. 09:00 – 12:00. Free
Fridays – Board Games Club. Join our friendly group and play a variety of games including chess and scrabble. 1:00 – 3:00. Free
Fridays – Craft and Chat. If you enjoy any form of craft then come along to our Craft and Chat group where you can share craft ideas, patterns and friendly conversation. 2:00 – 4:30. Free
Friday 26 – Page Turners Reading Group. Page Turners is an informal, friendly group that reads and reviews and eclectic mix from adult to children’s books. They meet on the last Friday of every month. If you are interested then please pop in and ask staff for more information. 10:00 – 11:00. Please see staff for details
Saturdays – E-reader Café and Tablet Drop In. Come along to our drop in where you can read an online paper or e-book, learn more about our digital services or get help in getting to grips with your tablet. 10:00 – 11:00. Free
