Entertainment, prizes and a visit from Blackpool FC’s mascot Bloomfield Bear will help kick off the re-launch of Poulton’s new look Market Hall this weekend.

The Mayor and Mayoress of Wyre, Cllr Russell and Christine Forsyth will officially open the Market Hall as well as some of the new businesses now trading from the busy town centre complex – previously known as the Village Walks.

The charity event will start at around 11am on Saturday with events running throughout the day and the official re-opening taking place at 1pm.

As well as fun for all the family the organisers also have some great raffle prizes, music, children’s entertainment and the chance to bid for a signed Blackpool United shirt and football. The event has been organised to raise funds for The Alzheimer Society and Brian House Children’s Hospice.

James Shepherd, development surveyor for Dransfield Properties, the owners of The Market Hall, said: “It has been a very busy few months since we bought the centre in September last year and we are delighted to have some really great new retailers.

“Poulton is a wonderful place to shop and our retailers have got together to organise a fantastic charity fun day on Saturday so we’re looking forward to welcoming old and new customers.”

The Market Hall houses a great range of retailers selling everything from ladies fashion to children’s clothing, confectionary and furniture. Stores are: The Souk, Victorian Arts and Crafts, Lol and Co, Pandora’s Box, Soap Fairy, Red Elephant, The Fish Plaice, Joseph Franks Hairdressing, Cheeky Chops Too, Modern Iware, Sarnies Café, Darbyshires Gas and Electrical, Goffers Sweet Shop, Furniture Solutions 4U.

Prizes on offer at Saturday’s event include: Gift vouchers for Lol&Co, Red Elephant, The Furniture Shop and Cheeky Chops, sunglasses, chocolates and wine as well as a carpet cleaning service and a fantastic meal for two and overnight stay.

With music and entertainment throughout the day and the chance to support two greal charities there’s something for all the family.
