Latest Tram Works News

Here's the latest update from Lancashire County Council regarding the road closures for the tram works.
HIGHWAY CLOSURES – APRIL 2011 ONWARDS It is emphasised that all dates are provisional.
CLEVELEYS
Westmorland Avenue Carriageway closed across tramtracks until late April. Traffic diversion via Cumberland Avenue.
West Drive Carriageway closed across tramtracks until late April. Traffic diversion via Cumberland Avenue.
Victoria Square Tramway works through Victoria Square continue through to late April. Traffic is not able to drive across tram tracks. Westbound traffic is diverted via Crescent East and Crescent West, with traffic turning across tramway at Lauderdale Avenue. Traffic which currently turns right from Crescent West into Victoria Road West is diverted to cross tramway at York Avenue ( ie : north end of tram stops at Victoria Square ). Traffic travelling north & south through Victoria Square is not diverted – although there will be lane restrictions whilst works take place. Pedestrians crossing to be maintained across tramtracks at Victoria Square.
ROSSALL
South Strand Carriageway closure across tramtrack until May. Temporary traffic diversion via Rossall Lane.
ANCHORSHOLME ( Blackpool Borough Council )
Lauderdale Avenue Temporary closure proposed to carry out track upgrade. ( Date to be confirmed ). Anchorsholme Lane Anchorsholme Lane closed for tramway upgrade works until mid April
FLEETWOOD
Town Centre All road closures have been removed from the town centre area. Lord Street, North Albert Street and The Esplanade are now open to through traffic. Works continue to enable the completion of specific works ( eg : new tram stops and pelican crossings ) under local traffic management.
Fishermans Walk – Lofthouse Way Lofthouse Way – across tramtracks into Elm Street - closed until late April. Local diversions signed via Poulton Street or Copse Road.
Radcliffe Road / Stanley Road Radcliffe Road / Copse Road tram crossing ( Near Stanley Road ). Carriageway across tramtracks to be closed to upgrade tramway for approximately two months. These works will commence once works to tram crossing at Lofthouse Way have been completed. Works currently programmed to commence late April, for approx 2 months.
Larkholme Avenue Carriageway across tram track closed until mid April.
Broadwater Temporary traffic management / traffic lights continue for new highway works until April.
