Junior Reporters Wanted

Added 1 October 2011

We’ve got a request to put out to all the small people who enjoy Cleveleys – we want to hear what you think, share your news, and hear about what’s important to you!

So we’ve launched Junior Reporters – which means you have all got a chance to write something, take photos and then see your work published on this website!

You can do this with your school, so school teachers take note! This is a perfect chance to tell the local community about your school projects and what you are doing, you can teach your pupils all kinds of things in more interesting ways – like reading and writing, and computer skills -  and then you have all got the excitement of seeing your work published!

Or there might be some budding journalists out there who want to do some writing on their own, maybe with the help of mum and dad, and fancy having their name in lights!

So what type of articles will be published? It would be really good if you could write us some pieces about Cleveleys and what’s happening at the seaside that you enjoy. So that could be anything that you’ve seen or done with school or your own family, from the beach, town centre and the many places to go. Schools can send us items from individual children or from groups and the class.

We also want to know what’s important to you. What you are enjoying about your school, what kind of plays and pantomimes you are rehearsing for, school visits you have been on, what the latest lunch box trends are! etc. For example some of the local schools sometimes come to the community beach cleans so it would be fabulous to know what you think to them and what you learned.

You could also submit work that you have already done. If you are covering subjects or projects already in school that might be suitable we'd like to include them too.

So, what do you do next?

Send us your writing and your photographs by email. You can attach Word files and/or jpegs, and you can photograph or scan your drawings and artwork too. You can send in just one piece, or regular ones - it's up to you!

Then email them to jane@visitCleveleys.co.uk and if you need to speak to us you can ring Jane on 07932 143431.

We are all CRB checked at The Rabbit Patch too, and used to working with lots of schools and children, but you can get your mum/teacher or guardian to send your material in for you if you prefer.
