Google Street Maps now added!
Added 15 March 2010
You can now look round Cleveleys where you see the icon, using the new Google Street Map function.
If you haven't already tried it, Google Street Maps is a photographic version of the immensely useful Google maps, where you can drag the cursor and visually find your way round places all over the UK. Have a look round your neighbourhood, see where you are going on holiday or for a day trip, and use it to plan how you spend your leisure time.
We knew that Google had been to this neck of the woods, because about 2 years ago we saw the car with the alien-like rotating camera on the roof as it drove down the promenade, photographing everything it saw with 360 degree vision. The pictures are then patched together with what must be fabulous software to enable you to look at the view on your computer from any angle.
The Cleveleys area is a fairly new addition to Google's repertoire, and through this website it's shared with you.
Meet Google Street Map man!
Where you see this little man you can find a link to Street Maps to match the place described in the text. On this page the icon links to the Plaza area on the promenade at the end of the high street - just to get you started!
