The all woman running group, The Goal-den Girls, set up last year by Tricia Ellis, is nearing its dream of completing the Edinburgh Marathon in April.

As part of the training for the over 50’s group, the ‘’Girls’’ have organised a 10 kilometre Road Race, along the Lancashire Coastal Way, starting at 11am, on March 25th.

Tricia hopes to have hundreds of ladies taking part, joining the inspirational team in their efforts to raise £30,000 for local causes.

The Goal-den Girls were recently awarded the ‘Olympic 2012 Inspire Mark’ by the Olympic Committee, lead by Lord Sebastian Coe in recognition of their cause and we’re recently showcased at the North West Annual London 2012 Conference.

Sponsored by local jeweller, Leonard Dews, the ‘’Girls’’ are raising money for North West Air Ambulance, National Coastwatch Institution at Rossall Point, Clifton Dialysis Unit at Clifton Hospital, Young Carers of Blackpool and Hint of Pink, a breast care charity at Victoria Hospital.

To join the ‘’Girls’’ and be part of this unique occasion, you can get further details and download the entry form on www.fyldecoastrunning.com.

Entry fee is £12 for all over 15’s.

So come on Ladies ! Dust off your trainers and join the ‘’Girls’’ !
